partnered with consumers, interior designers, architects,

Wood-Mode and Brookhaven Cabinetry to provide the versatile
and respected products that our clients deserve.

It started with looking over his dad’s shoulder as he
watched him plan homes for his clients. In his modest home
office in Mendota, Illinois, Mark’s dad would often ask him
for advice, engaging him in the process. “Here’s what the
client says they need. Put yourself in their shoes and
imagine how we can best give them what they want.” And Mark
would take his place at the drawing board to help work out a
solution.
From those childhood experiences, later coupled with summer
jobs in residential home construction, Mark’s interest in
the industry grew.
At the University of Illinois, Mark studied architecture and
business, graduating in 1979 at Urbana-Champaign. But
underlying his education was Mark’s desire to help people
improve their homes—especially their kitchens.
After graduating, Mark spent ten years as a designer at
retail kitchen establishments. He was then introduced to
Wood-Mode Cabinetry’s fine custom lines around the same time
that homebuilders and developers gained more interest in
using such fine cabinetry in their homes.
In 1996 Mark launched TradeMark Cabinet Corporation to meet
the demand for high quality cabinetry coupled with
deadline-driven service, fair prices and professional
design—all provided by a staff known for its friendliness
and integrity.
Married since 1990, Mark and his wife Barb have two children
at Lincolnshire’s Stevenson High School. When not at work,
Mark enjoys many activities and interests, including vocal
music, biking, landscaping, and mid-century nostalgia. Time
with family is a priority. A ‘home-body’ at heart, there are
always at least two or three home improvement projects in
full swing at the Elsessers.
